My pockets is gettin' fat

As many of you have noticed, I changed the image at the top of my site, as well as my profile image. When I first did it, I thought "oh, this is going to be cheeky and fun." I certainly did not expect the overwhelmingly positive response I got to the anti-vole logo. All of the comments about it had me wondering how I could capitalize on the popularity of the logo. At that moment, I got a call from my homeboy Tommy Hilfiger. He was just looking to borrow some sugar, but he turned on a light bulb in my head. The answer? An upscale urban clothing line called - AV-wear.
(I had to come up with some snazzy text to go along with the existing logo.) It'll be all the rage with the urban and suburban kids (urban kids first, then suburban kids a month or two later). The day after I came up with the idea, guess who was ringing my cell phone looking for some of my designs? That's right, the White Stripes! Didn't think they'd be the type to go for upscale urban clothing? Me neither!!! But they love it, and have already put in additional orders for gear (that's urban-speak for clothes and clothing accessories). Since then, I've had countless celebrity inquiries, notably from: P. Diddy: Peta Mathias: and even Tiger Woods (just seeking sponsorship, he's still contractually obligated to wear Nike clothes for now. But he's all AV-wear in 2007!): I'm also working on some jewelry for Jay-Z and Laura Bush. Oddly, they have similar tastes in iced-out rope chains ("iced-out" is urban-speak for loaded with diamonds): I owe the overwhelming success of the new AV-wear line to you, my fellow bloggers. It is your positive comments that started all of this. As a result, everybody who has commented on my blog prior to May 17th gets an automatic 10% discount on any AV-wear gear! Look for it soon at your local upscale urban clothier. Online ordering should be available by late summer 2005.

Awesome. I’m going to need an orange jogging suit. Can you hook that up? And if it’s at all possible, can I get that with matching shoes and sunglasses?

Come on, jon. Didn't you think I'd see that coming? I already had it made and sized. Check it out.

The shoes and sunglasses, however, I wasn't expecting that.

See, this is why I come to you. You go the extra mile. Customer service is so under rated. That is sweet. I understand the shoes and sunglasses are an over the top request, but I have no doubts that your team will be able to pull something together that will put Adidas and Nike to shame. And when people see me in the clubs, they’ll know what’s up.

Way to make a "my Mom dated Spike" t-shirt look lame.

Right now my relationship with you so love-hate.

you sure it's not going to be a reverse trend that starts in the suburbs and gets picked up by the urban set? that is where the vole has the most power (for now).

i'd love a four-finger ring just so cadiz can scope. do you do shoes? some green kicks with red laces would be rad.

I want a cardigan just like Peta's - finally I can BE her!

Given my years of expertise being a shop wench, I could run an upscale boutique for you in New Zealand. The overheads would be larger to begin with than stockists, but it would give a better profile for your AV brand.

Think of the money and glory! Today Peta (oh, and the rest of those celebrity types); tomorrow:

THE WORLD.

Cate - I don't like for my readers to feel bad when visiting. 15% off for you. Also, the mMdS t-shirt is not lame. We're going after different markets. (You're not going for the upscale urban folks too, are you?) Did I seriously just say "urban folks"?

jasmine - Unsolicited flattery? 25% discount for you.

sarah - I thought you might like it :) About the shop, I like your vision. We'll work out the details soon.

cadiz - Unsolicited references to A Tribe Called Quest? 50% discount! Use of the word "rad," 10% mark-up. Still, 40% off ain't bad.

%40 off is a steal. but that reference wasn't just for effect; i will wear that four-finger ring as a symbol of my vole vendetta.

So sorry I missed this during my nervous breakdown this week!

Hilarious! Only voles themselves are more amusing.

Hook me up with some AV scrubs and a logo white lab coat for the formula room!
