And the winner is...
This morning, omarphillips.net received its 1000th comment!!!
The winner? This comment, from Cate. I had hoped the milestone comment would have been something a bit more on the "I love omar" side, but whatever.
I have good news and bad news about this. The bad is that Cate is not eligible for the desk calendar/H2 grand prize. That is a shame, because I really feel that giving away a prize like that would have been great publicity for my site (all about me, me, and me).
But like I said, there is good news, and I'm pretty excited about it. Cate will be the proud owner of a brand new commemorative 1000th comment AV-wear t-shirt!! Unlike some previous contest prizes from omarphillips.net, this one is real. The shirt is in the production process right now, pictures will be posted shortly.

Woohoo! Go Cate! But damn damn damn it all...I so wanted someone to win the car. What're you gonna do with it now Omar? Still, a t-shirt is definitely the best choice for, um, consolation prize. And for the record, I agree with her comment...

Well that’s that. I’m changing my name back now.
Hey, remember when I used to, like, comment and stuff? Good times… good times…

damn, so you mean that there is no op.net sportsbra? rats.
but i KNOW there is a 'cadiz12 is the best' plaque. there's no question about that. you're just hanging on to it for me... right?
I said:
nadia - I may save the H2 until after my reunion, then I'll put it on eBay or something.
jon - I kind of got used to Onj. You changing your name back, it's kind of bitter-sweet for me. And I vaguely do remember when you used to comment, but I would understand being distracted by 7 computer screens.
cadiz - I thought it may be a bit awkward to have to ask someone what size sportsbra they wear. Also, I had to make it unisex in case a guy won. Re: the plaque, I'm not sure that was the exact text of it, but yes, that plaque is real also. I am holding it until the after-vole party.

Aaugh! When I first read this post yesterday, there was only ONE comment, which happened to be #999. If I'd had a single fragment of thought at the time, would have been the #1000...
No! No! No! IdiotIdiotStupidStupidStupid Wahhh!
Omar - no offense, but this is all your fault. It was that STUPID poop-poll! I saw that and my IQ instantly dropped sixty points. Since this put me well below 20 (I hate when that happens) I was functionally incapable of leaving a comment.
I couldn't generate enough motor-control to move my hand from the mouse to the keyboard; all I could do was click, click, click, like pulling a trigger on an empty handgun pointed at my head.
Oh, cruel fate! Why did I have to look at that STUPID POLL before reading the comments?!
I'm still suffering from the effects: I first left this comment on the wrong post.
That's it. I'm outta here. Little yellow monkey, if you're reading this - come get me. I'm ready to go with you now. Where ever you want to go is fine with me.
(angry, bitter tears streaming down my face)
(Mmmm...salty!)

Um, sorry. First line should have said "read that post." Not this one.
Obviously I'm still not back to my usual 70+ IQ. Suggestions for recovery will be greatly appreciated.
See?! Even my tenuous hold on grammar has been trashed!
I feel traumatized. Or maybe I'm just hungry.

Allow me:
Cadiz, what size bra do you wear?

While I am bitterly disappointed not to have won the 1000th comment. . . I wasn't elligible anyway. So I would have only gotten the t-shirt as well. [sigh]
I said:
cate - Better, but no extra prize for comment 1022.
RaJ - Cruel fate indeed. Imagine the pride you would have had walking around in the commemorative t-shirt. It's sad, really.
X - Thanks for helping me avoid an awkward situation!
supernewsgirl - MEP? Is that you? ONLY gotten the t-shirt? Clearly I need to post a picture so that you guys know how great this shirt is.

Yep, that's me. Oops. Used the wrong name, lol. I'm sure the t-shirt is wonderful - but . . . compared to an H2 for G.Lo and I to share?
RaJ said:
Omar - thanks. You have no idea how much your sympathy means to me. But then neither do I, since I've not yet returned to the level of cognitive ability needed to comprehend such abstractions.
I gotta get back to eating my cup of Italian Ice. With a fork. For lunch.

a real man wouldn't feel threatened to wear a tiny tank top. (hey, it worked in the 80s -- remember those meshy things all the football players used to wear?) i would need a medium, but you could probably play it safe and just manufacture larges, omar. it's way easier to take those kinds of things in than let them out.

someone actually won! and i thought with all the red tape....I'm happy for cate!! a unisex sports bra? ah, obviously for those guys with man boobs or moobs as jane magazine likes to call them. nike ain't got nothing on you 'Mar.
Nadia said:
Omar, I think Syar's onto something there. omarphillips.net would trump Nike anyday...in the blogging realm, at least.

Now that I know it was *just* a t-shirt, I'm glad I didn't try too hard. I mean, for a limited edition sports bra with matching pegnoir, maybe, but a shirt?
Will still take that H2....
(Oh, and you're cool. All that "omar sucks" stuff was straight from the vole. I gotta hang out with him less.)
