Shredding any last bit of coolness in my image
Guy 1: What did you guys do this weekend?
Guy 2: I went out Friday to that new club, then went wine tasting with (girl) yesterday.
Guy 1: Cool. I went to the (local team) hockey game. Omar, how about you?
me: I built a website from scratch, designing the entire layout using CSS.
Guy 2: Oh, that sucks, I didn't know you had to work.
me: um... no, I did it for fun.
Guy 1: so...how was the hockey game?
I've spent my limited amounts of free time over the past few weekends trying to learn CSS. I understand CSS documents, and I can modify existing ones. But until recently, I had never written my own CSS from scratch.* I (roughly) equate the experience to painting the exterior of a house using finger paint. Dreamweaver was sitting there in the background saying, "I could have done that for you in like, two seconds."
Anyway, in the process, I did learn how do do this. Hover your mouse cursor over that text with the dotted underline. See? I see a whole new footnote scheme developing here.**

It's really bitchin' and sad, all at the same time...

The trouble with you nerds is that you come up with all the best ideas, which makes you cool. So, the rest of us just have to keep "pretending" that it's cooler to waste time at hockey games, sports bars, and wine tastings so that we don't feel as useless and has-been as we really are.

omar, you're a badass. i'm sorry, but tasting wine and attending hockey games may be fun, but they don't require much in terms of skills.

RLI...such an issue for me! I really need someone else to live my real life so that I can resume blogging....
Anyway, I am so jealous that you know all about that code stuff. I suppose there's no short course that involves just waking up knowing it all? I don't want anything that involves, like, work, cuz that would then be RLI which would further upset the balance of my....oh, never mind. I'm a techno-dope. Always will be.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
wait, is that right? ooooh? ooooo? You know, as in with "ahh" afterwards?
regardless, that was awe-striking, all sarcasm aside. The next step is getting the question mark to be a little vole icon or something. Now that would redeem some cool shreds.

Ain't CSS fun? I lost my coolness long ago... I've been doing my HTML and CSS from scratch forever... Though uncool, it's quite rewarding to see your blood, sweat, and tears on the screen (not literally, of course).

first the crackberry, now this? wine tasting and hockey are for losers. reading awesome text as you hover your mouse over other text rocks. or "bitchin'" as the young'ns are saying these days.

You are quite the electronic pioneer, aren't you?
Also, you totally cheered me up about the concert situation. I'm quite fortunate that you gave me that insightful information on the crap level of the concert.

Look at you guys, being all supportive and stuff.
X, I'd give up rights to this site for $19,000 in a heartbeat.
