Olympic question:

Doubles luge. Seriously? Why?
UPDATE:
In doing some more investigation, I found that there is no rule saying it has to be two men in doubles luge. It could be two women, or a woman and a man. So the whole thing with there always being two dudes is by choice, not by rule. That explains a lot.

I think it's mainly because they haven't yet figured out how to get three guys on one of those sleds.

So Matt and Al did it on the TODAY Show yesterday. Then last night, Leno showed the TODAY segment and called it "Brokeback Mornings."
Priceless.
But I don't have an answer to your question.

Does that look suspiciously like the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" cartoons from old Saturday Night Live episodes?

I gave a buddy a ride on my motorcycle one time and that was weird enough. This is taking it too far.
These guys spend every day exercising together and then have to lay with each other all the time too. That's pure hilarity.

They look so serious as well. God forbid that they let anyone see that they enjoy their sport.

Just saying that there is a flaw in what you have read in the luge rule book. A man and a man can do it and a man and a woman can do it. The reason that there is no woman woman sliding is because the G-forces on the woman's hips that are on the bottom will shatter her hips. I do agree that it looks weard but thats why i do singals luge.
