I have enjoyed writing every single post on this site, so it's hard to say which I like the best. There are three particular posts that stick out in my mind as being my favorites. Comparing them, they all involve one or more images and they are all over-the-top ridiculous. I wonder if that says something bad about my taste? Not sure.

In no particular order, the posts are "Too Much Reality" (the Hobo Bob post), "Now It's Personal" (the second vole post), and for some reason, "Toy For Sale" (the Baby Tad post).

I hesitate to even mention that second vole post, because it involved the most harsh language ever used on this site. Yes, the B word is safe for primetime TV, but is it safe for my parents? In-laws? Grandparents? Employers? I try to make sure to tell myself that it's all in good fun, and that nobody should really be offended. In fact, the word is in reference to ME, it's not like I'm calling other people names.

Regarding the vole posts in general, I never imagined how much that little grass-killing rodent would catch on. There are only six real "vole posts," and only two since last summer. Yet I'd say that two or three times per week over the course of the last 12 months, someone in my real life will bring up the vole (most often in the context of blaming something on him). I think it's great. And now that spring is finally arriving, I'm sure I'll have more stories about that little SOB tearing up my lawn pretty soon.

Hobo Bob, well, I take great pride in playing a part in his story. Since his brief omarphillips.net appearance, he's been making great strides towards putting his life back together. After learning how to tone down the "whore of an ex-wife" talk, he landed some weekend gigs doing kids' parties. During one of those, he got discovered by a friend of a friend of a movie producer. Long story short, he got a bit part in the critically acclaimed movie Walk the Line last year:

It wasn't much, but it has done wonders for his confidence. He still lives around the house, but he has a much more positive aura about him. I'd miss him if he left, but I still have hope that he'll get a place of his own, one day.

Part III of the 4 days of omarphillips.net's birthday will be the last, I promise.
