Several weeks ago, I held the first omarphillips.net weekend photo assignment. There were some excellent submissions, but some were unable to participate due to time constraints. At least, that's the excuse some of you gave. To accommodate those who really didn't have time (and to force those who just used that as an excuse to come up with another excuse), I'm changing it this time from a weekend photo assignment to a week-long photo assignment. Submissions are due by next Sunday night, March 26. The only way I could make it any easier for you is to mail you a digital camera with a picture already taken, people.

I'm sorry, I promised myself that I was going to be nicer this time around. Last time, I was calling people the L word (no no, the other L word), and I think I was perhaps a little bit harsh. This is, after all, intended to be a fun, non-contest, participation completely voluntary kind of thing.

This week's assignment: A fish out of water

Take a photo of something that is (or seems) out of place in its surroundings, on whatever scale. A pencil in the pen jar, a knife in the spot for spoons, a scooter at a Harley ralley, George Bush at a convention of world leaders, etc. Have fun with it. The idea isn't to put pressure on yourself to take the perfect photo, the idea is simply to get you to take photos.

The same rules apply, you either need to take the photo, or be a subject in the photo. Again, submissions are due on Sunday, March 26. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

**UPDATE**
I forgot to add, you can submit photos by email to omar [at] omarphillips.net. Or, if you're like Scroob and you don't trust me, you can post photos on your own blog and leave a comment to let me know!
