No words to describe it
Yesterday, the boy started using two new words. Watching him learn the language is one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed. He surprises us just about every day with some new word he has picked up. But these two particular words from yesterday really warm my heart.
The first is "hug." There's nothing like seeing your toddler come up to you, arms outstretched, saying "hug." (Just make sure not to hold the hug too long. He's very busy and has other crap to get into that is way more important than hugging.)
The other word is "poop." I don't know of a word that will sufficiently describe how happy this makes me.

Which came first, poop or hug? Because that might say a lot about the kid's potential WMO membership.

Awwww... he loves his poop! Truly a proud moment.

(Omar, at next family gathering) Hey everyone! Listen to the boy's new words!
And your wife shares this happiness, yes?

I used to work with someone who didn't like the word "poop" so, naturally, I said it as often as posssible!

dem - He did say "hug" first. HOWEVER, I should note that when he does give hugs, they're the manly hugs where you shake hands first and only hug with one arm. And lots of back pounding. And belching.
katie - He does love the poop, yes.
RaJ - Of course she does! How could she not be happy that her son says "poop"?
geekdarling - I can see why someone would not love poop, but who doesn't like the word?! It's a good word! Crazy former coworker...

My kids know that every Sunday I ask them what they learned in Primary class. Today my toddler daughter, Stinkbug, said, "Me learn about POOP at Church today".
Oh well, at least I know she's receiving a consistent fecal education both at home and away.

can I test out a comment first? because I commented twice on the last post, got a page that said my comment will be moderated before being published and none showed up.
so yes, test comment to see if omar's blog hates me.

Cool. Soon he'll be mastering dozens of new words each day! Then sentences!! Then parallel parking!!!

He's not hugging his poop,is he? Because that is a line that must be drawn.

Cadiz said it right; nothing to add. Just remember, though, parallel parking is a long way off.
