Week-long Photo Assignment II
A wise man named Rakim once said, "It's not where you're from, it's where you're at." A separate wise man named Omar turned this lyric into an omarphillips.net photo assigment.
Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to submit a photo that represents "where you're at." Or, if you'd prefer that your assignment did not end with a preposition, submit a photo that represents your geographic region.
For the security conscious, please note that I am not asking for you to divulge personal information about your location. The focus of this is as narrow or as broad as you are comfortable with. Your geographic location could be your yard, street, neighborhood, town, village, township, kingdom, city, county, state, principality, government-recognized territory, province, country, continent, or hemisphere. (I set the limit at the planet, though. Don't go trying to take a picture of the dirt on the ground, claiming that you're representing the planet Earth. I'll have to check the omarphillips.net photo assigment bylaws, but I think that would be grounds for immediate banishment.)

The assignment is due on Sunday, May 28. The rules are the same as before: you must either take or be a subject in your photo. Entries can be emailed to me at omar@omarphillips.net.

yes officer!
now it's time to look and see if i have anything already taken that will qualify so i don't have to put any real effort in...

hmmm. glad i got those rechargeable batteries for the camera.
Glo said:
Crap. You ruined the great dirt idea...
Cate said:
Can you make it a contest instead of just an assignment? I want to win another contest.
Jon said:
Contest, assignment... whatever, I'm in. And I won't even recycle pictures...
Sarah said:
YAY! Something I can do while drugged! And I can do it without operating heavy machinery... unless my camera counts...?
Gia said:
Nifty assignment Omar. I'm in!
Katie said:
I'm definitely going to win.
demosthenes said:
You said that about the 'Lympics, too, Katie. I'm going to win.
I said:
jasmine - You made it through law school with that attitude?
cadiz - Good timing indeed.
glo - You can still take a picture of the dirt and claim that it represents your neighborhood...
cate - You're too focused on winning and losing. Hahahahah, no, I'm just kidding. It is a contest, but you're not going to win.
jon - I was considering making an "original pictures only" rule, but I don't know how I'd verify. I appreciate that you're not recycling. omarphillips.net is against recycling.
sarah - Even while drugged, you already kicked everyone's butt at the "first photo submitted" contest.
gia - Thanks for playing! Or at least, planning to play.
katie - It's not about winning or losing. Because really, you would have to pull out something special to beat me at my own contest -- er, assignment. Something like a basketball game played by small toys, or Dora in a pickle jar. You're going to have to bring it, Katie. Pick up that camera and git 'er done.
dem - That's the spirit! The reason for playing is to beat others. That's what it says in the WMO charter.

Do any of you find it interesting that Omar says "assignment" and we all say "and it's due when?"
Wow, Omar... you must be an authority figure or something.

oh darling. i re-used so many papers in college that it wasn't even funny. and you know law students never write their own class outlines! we get them handed down from the elders.
i'm eco friendly. i totally recycle.

A photo of "where you're at", and all I can think about is snapping a picture of Beck's version of "Where It's At". That would be two turntables and a microphone.

Hahahahahahaha, elasticwaistbandlady.
That song is going to be in my head all day now.
