Unnecessary Censorship, Vol. I
I'm not a fan of Jimmy Kimmel. I think he's generally not funny, and it makes me very mad that he's got way more money than I've ever seen in my life. That said, one of the funniest things I've seen in a while is the "This week in unnecessary censorship" segment on his talk show (note that I've never seen the talk show, just clips of this segment online).
In related news, I have a long, rich history of taking other people's funny ideas, altering them slightly, then calling them my own tend to get "funny" inspiration from unexpected sources. With that, I'm pleased to bring you a great idea I had, the omarphillips.net edition of unnecessary censorship!
Images removed
(On second thought, I guess I'm not that pleased to bring it.)

Oh! Omar! I....no. There are no words. Shame on you!
I said:
Oh come on! These are only bad if your mind makes them bad!
I said:
OK fine. I've been guilted into pulling a couple of the images.

So... was that *necessary* censorship, then? Or some kind of Statement within a Statement-making post?

omarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! (read in whiniest tone possible)
those were the two funniest ones! bring em back, or you can eff your mother!
yeah, i said it. your mom.
haboob.

maybe that was a bit harsh.
don't eff your mother. i'm sure she's a lovely woman.
sorry.
i should have censored my thoughts before commenting, eh?
I said:
Latecomers won't get your "eff" remark. So while you don't sound mean to me, those who had never seen images 3 or 4 think you're all cold-hearted.
Of course, had you left a supportive comment when you first read the post, I may not have pulled it. There's a lesson to be learned here, folks.
(Besides, I think the blurred out George image is the funniest.)

i agree, the blurred one was most shocking. but i think i'd have to see 3 and 4 to really give a wellrounded opinion.
nice nametag, o.

George is curious, not a perve. Let's remember that, omar! So, where are the removed images??

Ah! Controversy! It's good to see it somewhere else for a change.

So, if the adage, "Monkey see, monkey do", holds true, then the man in the yellow hat is more sinister than I once thought.
This post permanently stained my pure and virginal mind, Omar.

yes, i should have posted sooner. that was my big bad. but i always feel like i will look like too much of an omar groupie if i am constantly the first one to comment, so i try to wait until the count is at more than "none" to put in my thoughts (usually only requires about 3 minutes).
it really bit me in the ass this time, though, because those images WERE really funny, and were no more offensive than the stuff that comedy central airs during prime time.

Speaking of unnecessary censorship... I want to see 3 and 4!

Then again - "resourceful" latecomers *could* get Becky's remark. I gotta say, 3 and 4 are a little edgy.
Now I can't decide whether to feel tainted or elitist. Guess I'll go with 'both.'
(Very tricksy, Omar!)
I said:
I figured you'd catch that, RaJ!
Yes they could, if they were resourceful enough. I left it that way in case I changed my mind again. Now that I'm pretty sure I won't, I may get around to removing them more completely.
