Ice Ice Baby

The freezing rain started falling Sunday night. It's Tuesday, and I just now got back inside from scraping it off my car.

Great photo! If we had ice like that in Houston, the entire city would be shut down.

I knew no good would come of surrendering the weather to the Ronalds.
I knew it.

People here in southern Calif. can't even drive in the rain. I'd hate to see what would happen with ice. We had light snow the other day. LOADS of accidents in my area.
Wait a minute- it took a couple days to scrape it off the car?

This time around, we didn't get hit as badly as some areas did. But we seem to get a significant ice storm every few years around here.
I posted a couple more photos on Flickr.

all my peeps in austin have been homebound since sunday. it was snowing there yesterday for the first time since like 2004, and of course, i am stuck in yuck-o florida, with the 80 degrees and sunshine. geez, my life sucks. why does this stuff always happen to me?

The worst has happened... Houston has shut down!! I like to think I'm staying home this morning because I don't want to have the other idiot drivers hit me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

For some reason, I'm unable to view this picture. And just for fun, it looks like my office has blocked access to flickr. Today is looking like a good one!
I said:
Yeah, that image was linked directly from Flickr. I just changed it so I'm hosting it myself now. As for your employer, well, after that fire incident, I don't question their heartlessness. Because anyone who blocks access to Flickr must be just that - heartless.

thanks!! I figured it was a direct link. All of the other pictures worked. I tried to use my phones internet, because I'm not easily deterred, but it was unable to display those pictures also. I'm not saying you SHOULD investigate how to make your blog cooperate better with my phone's web browser... I'm just saying the pictures recently posted on my blog ARE viewable with my phone. Do with that what you want...

Finally, real icicles. Now, tell everybody to take down their dorky icicle lights because Christmas is over and the real thing is far prettier. It doubles as an object of beauty and a lethal weapon. Anyone see CSI:New York?
