Good Impression
I came home from work on Friday to find the new neighbors (I had not yet met them) out in their front yard chatting with another neighbor on our street. I walk over, there are some brief introductions, then this:
Her: Omar, your lawn puts us to shame!
Other neighbor: Don't feel bad, he puts all of us to shame!
Me: (humbly) Well, I try.
(awkward pause)
Me: I mean, I try to keep the lawn looking nice, not to put people to shame.

Maybe you should let your grass die a little just to clear up any hard feelings.

Don't let them see you iPhone.
Don't tell them you went to the Wiggles concert.
DO NOT tell them you are OmarPhillips.net

I can hear an update of the Davy Crockett theme song ringing in my ears right now singing
"Omar....Omar Phillips....King Of The Manicured Lawn Frontier!"
I wonder how hot you'd look in a cute little coon skin cap?

Be checking your e-mail. I have to ask yet another blog question. Isn't it nice to be needed by the non-tech savvy people?

Nice try, but we all know you do try to make other people feel tremendous shame about their own lawns after looking at yours. I'm not fooled by your attempt to be humble.

i'm with jon. you'll never admit it aloud, but i know the secret ingredient for a lush, grub-free lawn is a healthy and constant dose of other people's envy.

Oh Omie. "Thanks" Really, that was all that was necessary. I, like everyone else, just can't buy the humble attempt-one glance at this blog, and the neighbors will know that cartwheels and chants of "BooYa" were running through your head at that precise moment - not to mention the tiny little involuntary smirk on your face that you think you hid from them...
Congrats though

Too cute, Omar.
As such, I had several thoughts vaguely linked together when I read this post. I am nowhere near articulate enough to attempt wit today, so behold Syar's thoughts. Do with it what you will.
Humility = humble pie = you like to make pie = humble pie picnic on your awesome lawn.
