By the Numbers: Under construction Edition
1,256,993: Number of times in the last three weeks I was reminded that Christmas is over, as a result of the ninja wearing a Santa hat in my previous template. So I changed it. Besides, I thought the shades of gray were a little depressing during the winter months. I can look outside if I want to see gray. However, the color I chose looks fine on my laptop screen, I checked it quickly on a different computer and thought it looked a little too... greenish? So I may change it again soon, not sure. Let me know if it looks a little too booger-green for your liking.
70: Number of minutes ago I should have been in bed, but I wasn't, because I was trying to make up for the fact that INTERNET EXPLORER DOES NOT FOLLOW ESTABLISHED CSS STANDARDS. It's still not right, there are some pages where the sidebar appears at the bottom of the screen instead of at the side. I'm working on it. But not tonight.
5: Percent increase in omarphillips.net enjoyment you are likely to experience by using Firefox or Safari (Gecko or Webkit engines, specifically) to view this site over Internet Explorer. Firefox/Safari support rounding corners with CSS, whereas Internet Explorer does not. IE users, I'd be lying if I said you weren't missing out. Because you kind of are. Think about how happy you are now, then imagine adding 5% more happiness on top of that. Think about it.
29: Number of months it has been since Hobo Bob was first introduced on this site. (I mention this for the benefit of newer readers who might wonder who that dude is in the banner image. And for those other readers wondering if that green guy up there is the Leap Frog toy, Baby Tad? You're right! It is, and here's where he was mentioned.)
8: Number of comments needed to reach the 7000 mark! Had I realized it sooner, I would have offered up a prize.

Also I have to disagree - I think its more like 15% better in Firefox over IE. But thats only because my IE 6 doesn't display the side bar in the right place
And no this is not a pad message

I love the new OP page! It's perfectly green.
Did you notice that out of the 1,256,993 I did NOT mention little Ninja's Santa hat?
Ho-Bob and Possessed Baby Tad are..uh...weird.

This is me on Firefox (I was using IE on my comment above).
I see the rounded corners and I must say that my level of happiness is at least 5% more that a few seconds before.

You know, i think I wouldn't be nearly as offended by boogers (and their persistence in my children's lives) if they were such a nice gentle green as your template.
I have a very hard time wrapping my brain around a 5% increase in personal happiness. I can do 5% off of something I don't need in the first place, without batting an eye. But adding a percentage to get the total sum of happiness I experience looking at your blog--super challenging.

NCS called your hobo a ho. Are you gonna let her do that?
My favorite part of this blog? LIVE Comment Preview for no reason at all.
Sometimes I do a little dance with the letters "D" and "I" just to watch them dance. Then I erase it all and post a real, noteworthy, meaningful comment.
I have standards.

I am a Firefox user, and you are right, I am insanely happy. I am so glad I have that extra 5%
The green is too awesome to be booger-ish. Trust me, I have seen my share of mucus this week.

I had so much fun reading about Hobo Bob and Baby Tad...made my day!
If this is booger-green, I guess I like boogers.

IE is bad, but sadly at work I can't use firefox. Idiotic, I know. But that's how it is.
