Four Lies and a Truth: Good News Edition
One of the following five stories is the good news I promised. The other four are lies. Bad lies. "I'm not even really trying because I'm sleep deprived" lies (hint). Enjoy!
1) I joined the circus, and will be on blog break to work on my routine.
2) I'll be on blog break because I'm training for the Olympics.
3) Me and my boyz got a callback for the next season of "America's Best Dance Crew," so I'm taking a break to practice.
4) I'm taking a break from blogging because I will be touring with NKOTB.
5) My wife gave birth to the most beautifulest baby girl earlier this week, so I'm taking a blog break in order to take the necessary time to convince myself that I'm grown up enough to talk about things like "vaginas" when the boy asks where his baby sister's penis is. I'll be doing some other stuff too, but mostly that.

CONGRATULATIONS! Have I told you today how excited and happy I am at this news? I am, and I will be for a while yet. Woo hoo, Baby Girl Phillips!

Congratulations Omar. This is really awesome... Hope you have a great time with the family...

Congratulations!! Be careful with the bears and elephants, they have been in the news lately, and not good news. Its gonna feel like the circus, so dress up!

that is the most exciting thing ever! I never would have sarcasticly joked about a new baby on the last post, or equated it with my trivial problems, if I'd known!
have a pink bubblegum cigar, from me. if she looks anything like her big brother, I'm sure she really IS the most beautifulest baby girl, if not only upstate, then surely in the whole tristate area!
is it wrong that I'm disappointed that you won't be meeting donnie wahlberg? I'm mostly excited for you and your family, but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a smidge of sadness that you can't get his autograph on t-shirt for me.

Ya know, I thought there might be a bambino involved. I just didn't realize she was imminent!
Congratulations, and good for you for putting your priorities in the right order, even if it means less laughs for, well, me.
Guess I'll finally have to go through your archives and re-live your past.
I'll keep you on my RSS just in case you decide to show the boy (and eventually the girl) how to blog, how to create an animated short, or some other bloggable task.
I'm happy for you but as with the other post-ers here, it really does all come back to how this affects US! Just kidding but barely.
Now go take a nap. You need that more than sitting @ the computer.

Yeah, I thought maybe pregnancy---didn't know she was HERE! Congratulations! That's so wonderful!
Be prepared to spend the next 20 years of your life completely wrapped around her finger. There's something about little girls and their dads...

Yeah, spending time with the baby is probably more important right now than time with the blog.
OR
You could blog about the baby!
See? I'm a solver.

Congratulations! I wish you many restful power naps!
Although before I got to #5, I had just grabbed my old OP.NET jumpsuit out of the closet and was getting my finances together to follow you on the road, not unlike a greatful dead fan... oh well... maybe once the girl is old enough, you can tour again. I'll just start saving up for that. I'll be monitoring the fan forums until then.

CONGRATS!!! Welcome to my world...the crazy life of raising a toddler and a newborn. :) It's actually been a joy, but I totally get the blog break now. You will be lucky if you have time to pee.
Please come by and say hi to me every once in a while. I will miss you!
P.S. Vagina talk is easy. Keep it clinical. Or, pretend like you are a character on Sex in the City.

I'm wondering what is going to happen to the cool points during the OP Break/Baby '08
Will loyal readers get double points?
How about double points for readers who comment several times during the break?
And how about triple points for those super loyal readers who follow OP to the new OP blog?
I'm just throwing a few suggestions out there, 'cause it's in my nature to be helpful.
HTH!

Dear Mr Receipent,
Since a ncs has received a laser eye surgey she won't will not be needing a new gigantic computer monitor.
She has contacted our offcies to help in the delivery/transportation and as such.
There will be only one small charge of $5.57 US Dolars for shipping and $2.89 for taxes and as such.
As of now we'll be sending you a check for $700,000 for your trouble. Please keep $2,000 for such as troubles and minuses the shipping and taxes amount.
Please do returnthe rest to us, as we have found out this is the best way to deal with international transactions ie costumes and high fees as such.

You'll be having that vagina conversation with The Boy very soon. It'll go something like this while you're changing a diaper:
Boy: BOY have a penis?
You: Yes, you have a penis.
Boy: GIRL have a penis?
You: No, she doesn't have a penis. She has a vagina.
Boy: GIRL have a bagina?
You: Yep.
Boy: I want to see GIRL bagina!
You: Umm...
Boy: GIRL have a bagina. Mommy have a bagina?
You: Er...yes..
(and if he's anything like my boy)
Boy: BOY have a penis. Daddy have a big penis!
