Today marks the 3rd anniversary of omarphillips.net. It's fitting, though completely coincidental, that the day falls on April Fools' Day.

It's been a pretty full year. It started with my 30th birthday. Not long after that was the Duck Crisis of 2007 (scroll down a few posts on that page to see the full story). Speaking of, there may be a duck crisis of 2008 to write about soon. More on that later.

There was the trip to San Francisco for WWDC, where I couldn't walk two feet without seeing signs warning me of various hazards.

I attended a Wiggles concert, which was undoubtedly the best concert I went to all year. It may have also been the only concert I attended.

A few months later was the most fun omarphillips.net Photo Assignment ever. So fun, in fact, that I've been scared to try to do a new one, because I hate for there to be a drop in the level of fun. But it has been too long, so dust of your cameras. I sense that there may be a new assignment coming soon...

Then there was NaBloPoMo, where I managed to post for 30 straight days. During that month, I learned that I don't have 30 straight days worth of stuff to say. For reference, this post right here is my 30th post since the end of NaBloPoMo, four months ago. Also in November, I won roughly 150 "Blog God" Awards, including a the first ever "Lifetime Blog Excellence Award." Definite resumé builder.

In January, I learned about the power of Steve Harvey's hair. In February, I published my first stop-motion animated movie, which was coincidentally released on "Omar Appreciation Day." A few weeks later, I posted for the 500th time.

Some quick year three statistics, because it's what I do:

121 - Number of new posts
2031 - Number of comments
117 - Number of countries/territories from which someone visited
2964 - Number of hits from search engine queries that included the words "Steve Harvey" (more than half of those occurred in one week)

As always, thank you all very much for stopping by. Extra thanks to those who have commented. Double extra thanks to those who got me a new car or bought me an iPhone. (Note that neither of those things has happened yet, but I'm banking on someone wanting to find out what it means to get "double extra" thanked.)

And if you want your own personalized thank you note, I made one for you here. Ignore the fact that the date on that post says March 31, 2006. The beauty of mad libs is that they're as new as you make them.
